Tulum Wellness: The Science of Breath and the Art of Self-Regulation

Tulum continues to evolve into a global center for well-being, conscious living, and longevity practices. Every month, new leaders in neuroscience, breathwork, and movement gather here to explore the relationship between mind, body, and nature.

One of those voices is Alexia, a former French athlete and music industry professional who has dedicated her life to studying how sound and breath influence brain waves and emotional balance. Through the program Alchemy: Rewire, she guides people toward self-regulation, resilience, and clarity using CO₂-based breathing techniques and live sound experiences.

For this special session, Hypha Inc. collaborated with Jungle LuxeWorld by Hand, and The Space Tulum, a wellness studio in the heart of town for our upcoming colaborative project: Santuario Rama. The gathering merged live electronic music by Shanty Avi, guided breathing, and immersive sensory design. Participants experienced “the Contraction”, a state of elevated CO₂ tolerance where body and mind unite in deep flow, echoing the sensations of freediving.

In Tulum, wellness is not just a lifestyle, it’s a living practice of awareness and art.

While modern science continues to research CO₂’s neurological effects, Alchemy: Rewire gives it a new context: a pathway toward mental clarity, emotional healing, and creative potential.
